Chypre

The typical ingredients of traditional Chypre fragrances are oak moss, Laudan, floral, bergamot lemon, and patchouli. Its smell is moist and rich in layers. Chypre and Fougere are similar in structure and smell, both containing oak moss. The two notes can be distinguished by the core flavor, if lavender dominates, it is a Fougere note; If patchouli is dominant, it’s a Chypre.

Oak moss is the soul of Chypre, a parasitic lichen. It smells like trees and fallen leaves in a forest. This natural essential oil smells of trees, fallen leaves and earth and is reminiscent of a mossy forest.
